Alzheimer Disease

Alzheimer is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder where deposits of proteins form amyloid plaques and tau tangles in the brain: the neurons stop functioning, lose connections and die; the brain shrinks dramatically. The disease starts with memory problems, the evolution will lead progressively to communication issues, dependency and finally to death.

Unmet need: No approved disease-modifying therapies, only symptomatic treatments delays somewhat the progression.

Scientific rationale: EGF is significantly reduced in early stages; low plasma EGF predicts cognitive decline.

Our approach: CNS-targeted EGF therapy to enhance neuronal survival and reduce inflammatory burden
